I love it, I just love it. It helped restorer my brother’s deck with ease!

The restorer has become an invaluable tool to quickly knock out graffiti on stone planters!

It cleaned the rust off the surface in about 2 seconds.  I work with a lot of reclaimed wood in my signs, and it takes me forever to get it cleaned up and ready to use and the Restorer makes quick work of what would typically take me hours.

It’s awesome. I rocked with the Restorer.  It helped transform one of my properties!

After several years of watching my woodworking friends produce amazing results using the Restorer, I finally got one of my own. It’s much easier to control than a belt sander and the end result is smoother and more consistent than an orbital sander. Both of those attributes and the fact it’s quicker puts this tool at the top of my list for furniture flips. It definitely lives up to its hype and is a shop MUST HAVE.

Basically it restores the metal, gets rid of all the rust and brings the metal back to the original form.

It’s a beast, I used it on some high spots on a floor joist, as well as to remove glue, debris from sheathing. I also used it in a pinch to help shape a curve on a project I was using.

The Restorer is basically a handheld 3-inch drum sander with a huge variety of accessories to tackle all sorts of tasks in both wood and metal. It’s the kind of tool that you never knew you needed until you see it work.

This thing has got a lot of power. This thing is incredible, I could not slow it down. I tried my hardest to slow it down… I could not slow it down. The thing is awesome.

The restorer is a great versatile tool! From slabs to metal, the uses are endless. The longer it’s in my shop the more ways I find to utilize it.

The Porter Cable Restorer has really been a great addition to our metal sanding capabilities. We are always thinking of new and different applications for it because it is so versatile.

I restore vintage trailers and there is always a lot of body work to do on trailers that are 50+ years old and usually a lot of rust and paint to remove. The Restorer has been a tool that I reach for, for those projects. The versatility it provides, how easy and safe it is to use and the results it gives makes it one of my favorite and most used tools in my collection when I’m doing restoration work!

While other tools made me want to pull my hair out the Restorer ripped through my project and turned this amateur into a professional.. I highly recommend this product. The live edge was a little too funky for my liking, but with the help of my Restorer I was able to knock it down with ease. I love the tool guys!

The Restorer was great – there was quite a variety in the sanding rolls from one to another. I am a little over 100 pounds and a belt sander would drag me around with little results. The Restorer accomplished in no time what the belt sander could not. Thank you for making sanding fun again!

I was in my shop today and used my restorer tool to clean of some VERY rusty metal in just a few seconds and then put a clean finish in the raw steel before clear coating it!  I filmed the whole process and I’ll be sharing videos.  I love it so much!  I even showed some of my scars from using a wire cup wheel on a 12,000 rpm grinder…sooo much safer…and it’s even quicker!

Great product!!! It’s a full day of building with reclaimed and I am saving my hand from tons of sanding, (I had surgery a year ago after a torn ligament in my finger so this is very important!), saving my lungs because it truly works excellent with dust collection and ending up with my desired results! I got my restorer mostly for live edge clean up and an attempt to clean bark inclusions but I’ve been very impressed with the versatility and ease of use! Very powerful for even smoothing out rougher parts of wood. And as a bonus The “belts” have great durability!

I build a lot of chunky, curvy, trestle table bases. The design of these bases makes it difficult to sand with a traditional palm sander. The Restorer makes the sanding, not only easier, but enjoyable. It follows the contour of these bases with ease. This tool is so important that I have made my templates to accommodate the depth at which the barrel will reach! To put it simply, it’s a must have for my Woodshop.

The Restorer is the swiss army knife of power tools! Its impressive power doesn’t bog down and quickly gets the job done! From Wood to Metals to even Concrete and Brick! So I’m and old DIY’er and I’m in Florida while my people are sanding down beautiful old pine boards in Arkansas that have been on a wall for 100+ years. They’ve gone through two palm sanders so I ordered the Restorer with lots of parts from the website and they are finishing boards like crazy! Yay for all of us! Win Win!

Let me just say this…Very infrequently do I buy a tool, get the tool and it goes beyond my expectations. It just rarely happens, but the Restorer… this is amazing!

The Restorer is one of those tools you didn’t know you needed until that one job comes up that frustrates the crap out of you. The drum is what makes this tool unlike and belt sander I have ever used. It concentrates the power where you need it. I cannot wait to see what I can do with it in future projects.

Where has this tool been all my life? The restorer makes texturing wood and cleaning live edges so fast and easy. It’s also great for high end finishes like cerusing. The restorer has been a great tool in aiding to restore, refinish & remove materials on my wood & metal projects. I really appreciate the vacuum attachment as it helps aid in keep airborne debris at a minimum, especially indoors. Also the plethora of drums that are quick & simply to change out, makes this one tool valuable for many task. Oh & the customer service is outstanding.

After using the restorer for two years now… I can honestly offer a HIGH recommendation for this tool. In fact, I would say it’s a game changer for any DIYer, Maker, Woodworker or a hobbyist! The tool is a must-have!

We ran the restorer full blast for nearly 4 straight hours. The drum I was using lasted for the entire paint removal of half of the car. We had 2 restorers going!! The tool never heated up, and you can tell it’s quality. It was nice to not stop to change sand paper or disc after disc swap.

Eric Wilson Racing is a third generation dirt track race team with deeply embeded roots in the motor sport. On a new tire we use the Restorer with an aggressive 60 grit roller at a low RPM to remove the mold-release agent and open the pores on the surface. We’ve found that 80 grit works well to remove the glaze and “restore” the bite to used tires. This practice enables the tire to “fire” with instant traction !

Restoring old bourbon barrels is what we do! We are a veteran owned business that handcrafts American flags out of bourbon barrels. The Restorer does exactly what its names says. We have been using one for over a year and we have recently purchased another one. It has saved us so much time in cleaning up the old barrels to be works of art.

The restorer is completely changed the game for us in our shop. It now takes us about 1/5 the time it use to take us to clean barrel staves and other reclaimed lumber. Plus, it the results are much better than we were able to get before. I can’t imagine our shop without one now! The vacuum connector fits our shop vac perfectly and almost completely eliminates the dust while cleaning and leaves the pieces dust free. I can’t recommend it enough!

As owner and builder at Tattered Timber, I aim to use mostly recycled and reclaimed wood in hopes to create one-of-a-kind pieces that cut down on the amount of waste found in American consumerism culture. Reclaimed wood has a history that I hope to protect and highlight through my work, and the restorer is the perfect product to do that. The roller brush eliminates the harsh textures found in reclaimed woods without taking away the character like a typical sander or planer would. We build custom wood crafts ranging from Dining Tables to decorative wall art and hands down the hardest part of working with reclaimed material is cleaning it up while keeping that nice patina. I’m blown away every time I use the Restorer because it looks like it could rip the bark off a live tree! What I find though is that it gently removes the dirt and grime and leaves all that awesome aged patina behind. I am a novice with DIY, and quite honestly intimidated by tools. The Restorer is a great tool. I can use it on both wood and metal with ease. I use it everyday in my shop! In fact the Restorer is so easy to use my daughter is able to use it no problem.

The restorer is ideal for cleaning up live edge furniture, it’s easy to control, leaves a great finish and the dust collection is fantastic. I’m sure I’ll be using the restorer on a daily basis in my fine woodworking shop.

The Porter Cable Restorer is a versatile stripper/sander and Mrs. Brunet is very exicted about using it.

I really like the compact design of the Restorer and for the price I am amazed by what it can do. The Restorer can remove old paint and bondo without damage to the metal and it leaves it with a killer finish!

I have been waiting a few month for this tool to come out, So when I saw that it was in stock at my local Lowes this morning, I got dressed and went up and bought it and a bunch of sanding and stripping drums. Been using it all morning and absolutely love it! strips rust and paint leaving a great surface for finishes… I have finally found my new favorite tool for my custom car business!

From the first time I saw the Restorer I knew that I had to have it. Now I look for project to use it on!

If you are looking for the perfect sanding tool, the Restorer is it! When sanding wood, the removal rate is exceptional. The balance and feel when you pick it up is so natural you just know that they really spent time in development. I can’t wait for the other options to be available. It is so light, I can use it with one hand. I think I’ll buy another, just to have a spare.

The Restorer is pretty cool. It does a good job. I was amazed at how well it worked.- Hunter Teague. The Restorer brought life back to what I originally thought was a lost cause. The West end of a 1956 horse barn practically looks new after years of neglect. The pictures tell the story. If I had had to replace the wood or reside it would have cost 1000’s more. My 12 year old did the bulk of the sanding. I did the higher areas. I couldn’t be more pleased.

I opened the box without reading instructions and found it as easy to assemble as it was to use. The design is intuitive, probably brilliant, but simple. It made me ask, “…why didn’t anyone think of this before?” It did not require great effort or force to use and I didn’t damage anything while I was getting familiar with the tool.

Best surface cleaning and surface prepping tool I have ever used, easily removes paint and rust from metal without warping, also allows for easy switch to sanding roll for smoothing wood surfaces.

The restorer did a wonderful job and helped me save at least $500 on a new entry door. My team was able to restore an old wood door using the restorer, it was fast and easy! I will be using it more on my future projects to come.

I picked up a Porter Cable Restorer at Lowes and got to try it this weekend. I am prepping the eaves on my house to paint them, so I was working high on a ladder. I wanted to test the vacuum attachment to minimize the paint chips coming down. The vacuum hose won’t reach that high so I put the vacuum in a back pack and strapped it on (see picture). Now I have the vacuum wherever I go. I’m really happy with the tool, fast and a lot easier to control than I thought it would be. Very well made, I left it running for a long time and the motor stayed nice and cool.

This thing is super handy! I’ve used it to sand both flat and contoured wood pieces. I’ve also used it to remove rust from tools and auto body parts, and to give metal that smooth brushed look! I’ve even used it for shaping plastics. Heck, it even comes in handy to quickly (and carefully) sharpen a pencil or two! Thank you for this super handy addition to my shop!
